Luohanyan Scenic Area is located in Zhongtan Village, Rentian Town, at the junction of Jiangxi and Fujian, at the west foot of Wuyi Mountain, 20 kilometers away from Ruijin City and close to National Highway 206. Luohanyan was originally named Chen Shishan. According to legend, Chen Wudi (Chen Baxian), the emperor of the Southern Dynasties, led troops to station here. He relied on the dangerous terrain to win more with less, and later generations called this mountain "Chen Shishan".
