The mountainous area in qujiang district belongs to the south branch of Nanling Mountains. Due to the geological structure, the mountains and rivers in this area are intertwined and the terrain is complex. The hilly area below 500 meters above sea level accounts for 17.8%, and the hillside area accounts for about 25%, so the terrain is relatively flat. Most of the topsoil and soil layers are deep, covering an area of more than 500,000 mu. Most of them are sand shale, red sand shale and limestone, which are hilly red loam distribution areas. Luokeng Herbaceous Marsh is located in the gorge cave of Luokeng Town, Qujiang, with an altitude of about 1000 meters and a wetland area of about 524hm2. It was originally a gentle slope at the foot of the mountain and was reclaimed as a paddy field in the early years. However, due to the rugged mountain road, inconvenient transportation, cold climate and low rice yield, it was abandoned as a herbaceous marsh, where water accumulated all the year round, with the lowest water depth of about 0.8m and the average water depth of about 0.2m m.
