The first is how to set up numbered multi-level titles. Select the "Home" tab, click the number button in the paragraph panel, and select Define a new multi-level list to open the "Define New Multi-Level List Dialog Box", as shown in the figure:
Follow the instructions in the figure below Set the numbering format in the order shown. You can select different titles at label 1, corresponding to different levels on the left, and make similar modifications to all levels to facilitate future use:
Use serial number. After setting it up, just click on the corresponding level title of the style in the "Home" tab where you need to grade it in the document. Style 1 corresponds to title 1.
Modify the default style. After using it, I found that the style automatically given by Word may not meet the requirements of our paper layout. For example, the font size at a certain level is too large, or the space before the paragraph is too large, etc. At this point we can change it by setting the default style. Follow the steps shown in the figure to bring up the Modify Style dialog box.
Set the font size of the style. In the Modify Style dialog box, select the font size you need, as well as Chinese and Western fonts, and complete the font settings. This method can ensure that in future document editing, there is no need to go back after editing the document to modify the fonts of the Chinese and English content of the full text (this is a lot problems that people have encountered).
Set paragraphs. Click Format in the lower left corner, click the Paragraph button (as shown in the picture above) to bring up the "Paragraph" dialog box, and modify the line spacing before and after the paragraph according to the requirements of the paper.
Modify all styles. Follow the same method as above to modify the level style. WORD 2013 has no limit on the number of levels. When we use Title 2, Title 3 will automatically appear in the style panel, and so on.
