What taxes and fees need to be paid when buying a house in Malaysia? Does anyone know?

1. Deed tax: It is levied in proportion according to the total real estate price, 1% for RM0-100,000, 2% for RM100,000-500,000, and 3% for above RM500,000.

2. Lawyer fees: levied in proportion to the total real estate price, ranging from 0 to 150,000 ringgit, 1% of the lawyer’s fee; 150,000 to 850,000 ringgit, 0.7% of the lawyer’s fee; 850,000 to 2 million ringgit, the lawyer’s fee 0.6%.

3. Loan stamp tax: 0.5% of the total loan amount

4. Loan legal fees and miscellaneous fees: about 0.8% of the total loan amount

5. House tax + Land deed tax: around RM1,500 (apartment)

6. Property management fee: RM500-1,200 per month for a 100-square-meter house
