Function content of protein encoded by T4 phage gene 32
The protein encoded by T4 bacteriophage gene 32 is a single-stranded DNA binding protein, which is needed for T4 bacteriophage DNA replication and repair. It harmoniously binds and stabilizes the instantaneously formed ssDNA region, and plays an important structural role in T4 bacteriophage DNA replication. It can also be used to stabilize and mark the ssDNA region, so as to observe the intracellular structure by electron microscope. Recent studies show that it can improve the yield and efficiency of reverse transcription in RT-PCR reaction and increase the yield of PCR products.
