At present, the changes in the international situation are extensive and profound. The world is multipolar, economic globalization, science and technology are changing with each passing day, and knowledge economy is new. The competition of comprehensive national strength is becoming increasingly fierce, and the interests contradictions and conflicts between countries are complex and changeable. In particular, the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the Eastern European bloc led to the so-called "low tide" of the international socialist movement. At home and within the Party, many new situations and problems have emerged, reflecting the arduousness and complexity of socialist modernization and the Party's own construction. Some of our comrades, even some party member cadres, have doubts and puzzles about the future of world socialism, and a "crisis of faith" has emerged. Therefore, a correct analysis and understanding of the twists and turns in the socialist process is particularly important for us to strengthen our ideals and beliefs and cope with such challenges and tests.
As a brand-new social system, socialism has a series of connotations, requirements and conditions. It is not as easy to build as people think, and it must go through long-term exploration and hard struggle. In this process, both the failure of socialist revolution and construction in some countries and the success in some countries are normal and legal. This is the charm of socialism as a brand-new system, which deserves people's yearning and pursuit. On the contrary, in the process of its development, it is unimaginable that no matter which country it is built in, it can be visited as soon as it leaves.
It should be pointed out that the failure of Soviet Union and Eastern Europe cannot be equated with the failure of Marxism and scientific socialism itself. On the contrary, it is the result that the ruling parties in these countries gradually violate the basic principles of Marxism and the law of socialist development, and it is the failure of Soviet model socialism. Therefore, it is unrealistic and harmful to blame the mistakes and setbacks of the socialist movement on the socialist scientific theory and basic system. We must unswervingly push forward Socialism with Chinese characteristics. Although our socialism originated from the traditional Soviet model, our party adheres to the guidance of Marxism and the reform and development that keeps pace with the times. We are engaged in socialism that conforms to the laws of social development, the ruling law of the production party and socialist construction, which is essentially different from the traditional Soviet model. For example, our party put forward the ruling theory of scientific ruling, democratic ruling and ruling according to law; Put forward the theory of people-oriented, power for the people, benefit for the people and affection for the people; Put forward the theory of coordinated development of material civilization, spiritual civilization and political civilization; Put forward the theory of building a harmonious socialist society and Scientific Outlook on Development. These are fundamentally different from the Soviet model of socialism, and they are the embodiment of the essence of Marxism and scientific socialism theory. Although there is still a gap between theory and practice, and there are still many unsatisfactory places in practical work, our party is striving to promote socialist modernization and improve our system under the guidance of Scientific Outlook on Development. We have no reason to doubt our socialist cause. The great practice of China's socialist construction is showing the superiority and strong vitality of the socialist system to the whole world, which is the call of the times and the historical necessity. Of course, we should be full of confidence in this.
Second, under the new historical conditions, we should firmly establish a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, motivate ourselves with lofty ideals, spur ourselves with firm beliefs, and demand ourselves with party member standards, so as to keep the political nature of party member forever.
Although the ranks of our Party are neat and have strong fighting capacity, the vast majority of party member produced by * * * can stand in the front line of all work, be honest and diligent, and win the respect and love of the broad masses of the people. However, it should be noted that corruption within the Party is still very serious, and the ideological situation of some party member cadres is also worrying. Some do not distinguish between public and private, right and wrong; Some are insatiable in economic exchanges and fall into the quagmire of fetishism; Some people are satisfied with sensory enjoyment, pursue enjoyment, muddle along, and completely confuse ordinary people. All these phenomena, although they happen to a few people, have seriously damaged the party's body, affected the party's ruling position and destroyed the flesh-and-blood ties between the party and the broad masses of the people. Third, what can we do to better carry forward the spirit of the Long March and strengthen our ideals and beliefs?
The author mainly expounds from the following three aspects:
First, the political stance should be correct. Although judging from the party's own situation and existing problems, it is indeed serious, but I don't agree with some comrades who pessimistically think that the current corruption within the party is an "incurable disease". Of course, we can't take it lightly. As Comrade Hu Jintao said, we must be prepared for danger in times of peace and enhance our sense of hardship. But we must strengthen the lofty ideal of capitalism and the confidence that the party's cause will win. The victory of the Long March proved that this is an irrefutable truth.
Since the reform and opening up, China's socialist modernization has made historic great achievements, attracting worldwide attention. Practically speaking, our achievements have been achieved by overcoming many contradictions and difficulties, which is not easy. The most fundamental experience of these achievements is to rely on the strong leadership of the Chinese production party and the guidance of the party's correct Marxist line. We are full of confidence in the party. Without the Chinese Production Party, there would be no victory of the China Revolution. Without China's * * * production party, there would be no success in China's modernization. Our country is big and has many difficulties, so is our party in its own development. Nevertheless, our party always relies on its own strength and perseverance to reach the other side of victory. As long as we unswervingly hold high the Party's banner and closely unite around the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Hu Jintao at the core, we will certainly be able to push forward the great cause of China's socialist modernization.
Second, there should be subjective consciousness in ideological understanding. At present, China's material civilization is developing at a high speed, but there are still some unsatisfactory aspects in ideological construction, national core values construction and national subjective consciousness construction. Comparatively speaking, ideological and moral construction is a "short board". Material civilization has gone up, but spiritual civilization and ideological construction have not developed in step with it.
In the process of globalization, it is absolutely necessary for us to absorb advanced western science and technology, but globalization cannot melt all the spiritual culture of a nation. A nation can't stand up without its own subjective consciousness and core values, just like its own body has someone else's head. Now we have such a hidden worry. We should have our own things and a spiritual pillar of self-independence.
Today, we emphasize the spirit of the Long March and its development. The most important thing is to strengthen the subject consciousness and core values of the Chinese nation. Chinese culture has a long and splendid cultural tradition and advanced values of human civilization, such as the patriotic feelings of worrying about the world first and enjoying the world later, the lofty integrity of being rich and strong, loving and serving the public, and the social ethics of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and people. Especially the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization was fully reflected in the Long March led by party member. Now we need to carry forward these fine traditions and forge the subjective consciousness and values of the Chinese nation. Because the particularity of leading cadres often determines that they have greater influence on the party and society than others, and their words and deeds have stronger demonstration and guidance than others. However, the grand cause of socialist modernization is the historical mission of every Communist party member and even every member of society.
