203 supplier compliance
The goal pursued by modern logistics management can be summarized as 7R, that is, the Right Product in the Right Quantity is delivered to customers in the Right Condition, quality and cost at the Right Time and place.

In warehouse management, we generally consider sticking to 7R when serving the next link (that is, the client). In fact, for upstream suppliers, 7R requirements should also be put forward. These specific requirements are sometimes called supplier compliance, especially in some foreign warehouse management books.

Smaller distributors and agents do not have the right to speak in procurement negotiations. However, for large and medium-sized circulation enterprises, it is necessary to put forward clear requirements for suppliers' delivery methods to ensure that they deliver products to the warehouse in the most appropriate way.

In fact, in the field of supplier management, there is also an 80/20 rule, which means that not only 20% suppliers provide 80% inventory, but also 20% suppliers may cause 80% purchase problems. The reason for the problem is that they don't know that their actions will affect our operation.

Shuixi Auto Parts recently developed a self-owned brand, and the product packaging specification made Wang Er ask for it. The second manager was very excited. Before, he was blind and dumb, and he had to accept everything. He didn't even dare to put a P. This time, he finally turned over and became the master. At least he had a little say, so he carefully arranged it. To sum up, before placing an order, the areas that need to be confirmed with the supplier include:

1, delivery frequency. Suppliers should arrive at the required time, not their convenience (going to the toilet? ).

2. Type of transport package. Is it cardboard, plastic, handbag, roll cage, tray or bulk? Bulk requires manual loading and unloading, which will increase the cost. In addition, if pallets are used, is there a wrapping film waterproof outside, and how many boxes are standard for each pallet?

3. The delivery method must be compatible with the equipment available in the warehouse. If a pallet is used, the dimensions of the pallet, including length, width and height, and the type (such as four-way entrance) should be determined, and the existing forklift should be able to operate directly.

4. Whether the number of sales packages has been considered. For example, a certain spark plug needs six pieces per vehicle, but if it is packaged in a pack of four pieces, it will be more troublesome for customers to order, or order 12 pieces (3 boxes) at a time, or distribute them, which will reduce the sorting and packaging efficiency.

5. Does the packaging conform to the industry practice? For example, lubricating oil is usually packed in 4L with 6 barrels per box, so it cannot be packed in 8 barrels or 4 barrels per box.

6. What is the quality of the outer packing box? Will it be easily damaged during handling and whether it is waterproof?

7. If multiple SKUs are mixed in each box, is it marked? Because there are many SKUs in auto parts products, they are often mixed. You can ask the supplier to mark "LCL" with a label, so that it is not easy to make mistakes when receiving goods and improve the accuracy.

8. Whether the packaging box (outer packaging) and product packaging box (inner and outer packaging) have commodity numbers on all sides, or only on two adjacent sides. If only one side is printed with the product identification number, special attention should be paid when stacking: the label should be washed out. In addition, the commodity number and font size should be large and easy to identify, and you can see clearly without wearing reading glasses.

9. What is the approximate weight of each box of products? Is it too heavy to handle?

10, the size and type of cartons. For example, square boxes are easy to stack, but easy to dump.

1 1, whether the packing box is printed with handling precautions and bar code, indicating the stacking height and the number of products contained; If it is dangerous goods, whether there is a special logo; If it is an imported product, is there a Chinese logo?

12. Is the product bar code printed on the product packaging box? Wang Er once saw that the bar code label of a brand product was folded over, that is, it was regarded as a sealing sticker. The whole bar code was not on the same plane, and I don't know which idiot designed it, so it was very inconvenient to scan the code. In addition, whether the barcode is clear and undamaged can be used normally. If there is a bar code, do you have it on the inner and outer packing boxes (boxes)?

13. Whether there are anti-counterfeiting measures, you still need to design and paste the corresponding labels yourself.

 ……

After the supply and demand sides make an agreement, the supplier should send samples to ensure complete compliance. Otherwise, even if there is a written agreement, because the two sides have different understandings or communication barriers, there will be situations where chickens talk to ducks, and the result may be ridiculous.
