1, one-component and two-component classification:

Silicone glass glue can be divided into two categories from product packaging: one-component and two-component

(1) One-component silicone adhesive, whose curing depends on the change of physical properties caused by contact with moisture in the air;

(2) Two-component refers to that silicone adhesives are divided into two groups, A and B. When they exist alone, neither group can be cured, but once the two groups of adhesives are mixed, they will be cured. One-component silicone glass glue is common in the market.

2, acid-base classification:

Silica gel glass glue can be divided into acidic glue and neutral glue according to its acidity and alkalinity.

(1) Acid glass glue is mainly used for general bonding between glass and other building materials. Neutral glue overcomes the characteristics of acid glue corroding metal materials and reacting with alkaline materials, so it has a wider application range and its market price is slightly higher than that of acid glue. (2) Neutral glass glue is a silicone structural sealant. Because the metal directly used for glass curtain wall is bonded with glass structure or non-structure, its quality requirements and product grade are the highest among glass adhesives, and its market price is also the highest.

3, color classification:

Silica gel glass glue has many colors, and the commonly used colors are black, china white, transparent, silver gray, gray and bronze.

4. Classification of weatherability and mildew resistance:

(1) Weather-resistant silicone sealants is suitable for weather-resistant sealing of various curtain walls, especially recommended for glass curtain walls, aluminum-plastic curtain walls and stone dry hanging.

(2) Mould-proof silicone sealants is the future development trend. Silicone adhesive with mildew-proof effect has a longer service life, is stronger than ordinary adhesive, and is not easy to fall off, especially suitable for some damp and moldy environments, such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Third, matters needing attention

1, the most common problem of glass glue is that it turns black and moldy. Even if waterproof glass glue and mildew-proof glass glue are used, such problems cannot be completely avoided. Therefore, it is not suitable for construction in places with water or long-term immersion.

2. Anyone who knows something about glass glue should know that glass glue is an organic substance, which is easily soluble in organic solvents such as oil, xylene and acetone, so glass glue cannot be applied to substrates containing such substances.

3. Ordinary glass glue can only be cured with the participation of moisture in the air, except special and special glass glue (such as anaerobic glue). Therefore, if the place where you want to build is a closed space and it is extremely dry, ordinary glass glue can't do it.

4. The surface of the substrate bonded with glass glue must be clean and free of other attachments (such as dust). ), otherwise the glass glue will not stick firmly or fall off after curing.

5. Acidic glass glue will release irritating gas during curing, which will stimulate eyes and respiratory tract. So be sure to open the doors and windows after construction, and then move in after the gas is completely cured.
