According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Dianbai District, which belongs to Maoming City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest coast of Guangdong Province, between east longitude110 54'-1129' and north latitude 2122.

Dianbai District was named for its thunder and lightning. In the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 589), Dianbai and Haichang counties were merged to establish Dianbai County, and Dianbai County was named as the county from then on. In 20 14, with the approval of the State Council, Maogang District and Dianbai County were abolished and the Dianbai District was merged.
