Tancheng Economic Development Zone is located in the west of Tancheng County in the southeast of Shandong Province, and was originally a new urban area of Tancheng County. Tancheng Economic Development Zone has become a new industrial and commercial gathering area in southern Shandong, and it is also one of the most livable areas. In March 2006, Tancheng Economic Development Zone was approved by Shandong Provincial People's Government as a provincial development zone.
