Are financial activities included in GDP? How to record it? Such as bank deposits and loans, stock market investment and so on?
General financial activities are not included in GDP. For example, buying bonds, stocks or bank loans, these financial activities only transfer funds from one individual to another, and for the whole country, they have not added any assets. GDP only calculates fixed assets investment and inventory investment.
