Treatment process
1, residential acceptance
I apply to the acceptance point of the resident ID card of the public security organ in my place of residence, fill in the application form of the resident ID card in different places, and pay the fee for the certificate. Among them, those who apply for renewal shall submit their identity cards, and those who apply for replacement shall submit their household registration books or residence permits.
2. Proof of residence
After accepting the application for renewal and replacement of resident identity cards, the reception point in different places will timely transmit the acceptance information to the public security organ where the applicant's domicile is located, and the public security organ at the county level where the applicant's domicile is located will timely examine and issue it.
3, the production and distribution of residence documents
The public security organ of the place of residence shall complete the production, verification and distribution within the statutory time limit after receiving the certified information, and the applicant shall receive the certificate at the acceptance point with the receipt of the certificate. If a certificate is renewed, the original certificate shall be returned when a new certificate is obtained.
Handling place
Location: any household registration police station in the urban area, suburban town police station or branch office's household administration hall.
Processing time: the household registration reception room of the urban police station is open to the public seven days a week, and the household administration hall of the suburban branch is open from Monday to Friday.

Guangdong ID cards can be handled in different places in the province.
Residents in the province who hold valid certificates such as household registration book, resident ID card (renewal) and residence permit (student ID card or student status certificate) can apply for renewal of resident ID card at their place of residence. If the resident ID card is damaged or lost, there is no need to return to their place of residence. For the time limit for processing in different places, because the work of processing resident ID cards in different places needs to be handled by the public security organs at the place of residence and household registration, the cycle will be slightly longer. Guangdong self-service ID card operation guide
It should be reminded that at present, the "self-service application machine for resident ID cards" is limited to the non-first-time ID card business for registered population.

6. Since the self-service application machine for ID cards has not yet opened the WeChat payment service, citizens can pay through UnionPay or go to the bank to pay.
7. After the application is submitted successfully, citizens can wait patiently at home for SMS notification to get their ID cards. Because there are procedures such as auditing and certification, it usually takes 2 months, and the fastest is 40 days. After receiving the notification message, citizens can pick it up at the "self-service ID card collection machine" in the 24-hour self-service area.
