In order to ensure that students from poor families successfully complete their studies, Peking University has established a student aid system for students from poor families (hereinafter referred to as the "system"). The “system” includes channels such as student loans, work-study, tuition exemptions, loans, temporary hardship subsidies, grants (new May Fourth Grants), scholarships, etc. Student loans and work-study programs serve as the main channels to support students from poor families, and other programs serve as auxiliary means. These tasks are specifically handled by the Student Affairs Department.
