National student loans refer to student loans issued by lenders to borrowers with interest subsidized by the central government or local governments to borrow tuition, accommodation and living expenses for students to study in domestic colleges and universities.

Which bank is responsible for undertaking the national student loans? What is the nature of the loan?

The bank responsible for undertaking the national student loans is entrusted by the government to serve the whole country and the province according to their affiliation. The level of the National Student Loan Management Center is determined through bidding. Banks participating in the bidding must be banks approved by the China Banking Regulatory Commission and qualified to handle the national student loan business. Once the handling bank is determined, the National Student Loan Management Center will sign a legally binding loan cooperation agreement with the bank.
