Because of the purchase restriction, foreigners need to meet three conditions when buying a house in Shanghai:
1. Property buyers must be married.
2. Buyers originally didn't have a house in Shanghai.
3. Can provide social security or personal tax payment certificates that have been paid continuously for more than 2 years in this city within the first 3 years from the date of purchase.
(One-time supplementary payment is not recognized)
Only the purchase of real estate auctioned by the court, or commercial premises, can be exempted from the above restrictions.
