I'm in the same situation. I wrote a power of attorney to let my local classmates go to the loan bank to repay the loan. Later, I asked for a copy of my ID card, and the bank called me to confirm it once and handled the repayment.

If you have a loan contract with the phone number of the bank on it, call and ask, and the bank will tell you how to repay it. I believe you don't have to go there yourself.
