Yadong Port, a border port
Located in Pulan County, Ali region, on the south slope of the middle part of the Himalayas, bordering Nepal and India. In the north of Pulan County, there are famous Buddhist pilgrimage sites, Shenshangang Rinpo Fengqi and Shenghu Ma Pan Yongcuo. Historically, it was the only way for Hindus to enter the country for pilgrimage, with about 45,000 pilgrims entering the country every year. Because there is no expressway outside the country, mountainous areas are often closed by heavy snow, and foreign businessmen generally only enter and exchange from July to September every year, which is a seasonal port. From 1954 to 1962, Pulan Port mainly carried out small-scale border trade with neighboring countries. At that time, Indian Rupee occupied a large proportion in circulation. Imports are mainly grain, wood and daily necessities, while exports are mainly wool, salt and borax. 1960, the border trade volume of this port was 1 10,000 yuan, 1962, the port was closed, 1992, and it became the main port of foreign trade in southwest Tibet, with an annual transaction volume of about 40 million yuan.
