Introduction to Guanyin's Treasury borrowing and required items:
On Guanyin's borrowing day, "Guanyin's Treasury Opening", as the name suggests, means that the Guanyin Temple opens its treasury to lend money to the people. It is said that on the twenty-sixth day of the first lunar month of a certain year, five hundred Dharma protector Arhats from the heavens transformed themselves into monks and went to the Guanyin Temple to seek alms in order to test the magical power of Guanyin Master. Avalokitesvara has always been compassionate and devoted to good deeds. When he saw five hundred monks coming, he opened a warehouse to meet their needs. When people heard about it, they came in droves, and the poor families were relieved from their difficulties. Since then, the people have agreed that this day is the day when Guanyin opens the treasury, and this day is when Guanyin opens the treasury gate.
Praying for blessings and borrowing items from the library:
1. Pay homage to Guanyin for a copy of the borrowing library. The special manuscript for borrowing from the library has a fixed format and needs to be sealed.
2. Three sticks of incense and a pair of red candles.
3. Wu Zhai: five different vegetables and fruits. Oranges, apples, grapes, snow pears, crystal pears or other fruits can be used.
4. Three cups of tea, three cups of water, and three pairs of chopsticks. Avoid using wine or meat.
5. Ingots and paper money (the ingots and paper money used for daily ancestor worship are enough).
