Although the multiple-child policy has been liberalized, China's population may not grow rapidly. This matter should be analyzed and considered from the following aspects.
Consumption levels are getting higher and higher, but income has not increased much. The disproportion between consumption level and income level is the biggest stumbling block to having a second child. I don’t know when people’s consumption habits started to change like this. They want the best for everything. Take the most direct and simple way of raising children as an example. Many people born in the 1980s and 1990s basically relied on breast milk when they were young. Milk powder is a luxury product, not to mention things like diapers. Clothes are always big and small, and then put away after wearing small. Toys are always just dirt and bricks. Today’s post-00s generation has grown up with expensive milk powder, high-end toys, and endless diapers at home. The cost of sending children to kindergarten is beyond the reach of many ordinary families. All of this requires a certain economic foundation. Consumption levels have skyrocketed, but the incomes of many people have not changed much. It is very stressful to raise a child, and they will definitely not think about having another child.
Now that housing prices have been at a very high level, many people are hesitant to have a second child considering their future housing. Since 2004, housing prices have been rising like a kite with its string cut off, to a level that is out of reach for many people. Many people feel very stressed when they look at their income and then look at the sky-high housing prices. Moreover, after giving birth to a child, I considered that the child would need a house to get married and start a family, but I did not have enough confidence to face it, so I had to give up the idea of ??having a second child. Housing prices are another stumbling block to prevent the population from soaring. Too many people cannot lift this stone.
Based on the above two aspects of analysis, China’s population will certainly not grow much in a short period of time. Having children does not mean that the policy is open. There are too many restrictive factors. For example, many people are only children and two people have to support four elderly people. Both financial and mental pressures are very great. It is really difficult to consider having more children. It's because of the powerlessness.
