Yichang City is located in the western (southern) part of Hubei, at the junction of the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River, from the mountainous area in western Hubei to the Jianghan Plain. The transitional zone "controls Bashu at the top and leads to Jingxiang at the bottom". It spans 110°15′~112°04′ east longitude and 29°56~31°34′ north latitude. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 174.08 kilometers, and the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 180.6 kilometers. It borders Jingzhou City and Jingmen City to the east, Shimen County of Hunan Province to the south, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture to the west, and Shennongjia Forest District and Xiangfan City to the north.
The geographical environment of Yichang City is complex and diverse, and the geological structure is relatively complex. Strata from various geological eras ranging from the Proterozoic Era 1.8 billion years ago to the Cenozoic Era one million years ago are distributed. , and is fully developed and fully exposed. The world-famous "Li Siguang's Geomechanical Structural Traces" and the oldest and most primitive shelled animal fossils, which aroused deep interest in the world's geological circles, were discovered in Xiling Gorge in the city. The formation is one of the standard stratigraphic areas in southern China, and many typical geological sections exposed are well-known in the geological circles at home and abroad. The Sinian section of the Three Gorges established by the famous geologist Professor Li Siguang in 1924 created the Sinian stratigraphic unit and enjoys a high reputation internationally. The Ordovician section of Huanghuachang has complete strata and rich fossils and is considered It is a typical section of the Ordovician system in China; the Wangjiawan Ordovician and Silurian boundary section is one of the three best such sections known in the world. There are no large faults passing through the urban area of ??Yichang City, the earth's crust is relatively stable, and there are no earthquake-producing structures. According to records dating back more than 1,600 years, the earthquake intensity in urban areas did not exceed 5 degrees. Yichang City is located in the west of the Yangtze-Huaihe Platform. The general outline of the geological structure is: Huangling anticline in the middle and north of the region, Dangyang Basin in the east, Zigui Basin in the west, Changyang anticline and Renheping syncline in the south. To the southwest is the Wufeng syncline, to the northwest is the Shennongjia anticline, and to the north is the platform margin fold belt. From the perspective of geomechanics, it is a composite part of the southern section of the third uplift belt of the Neocathaysian first-level structure and the Huaiyang mountain-shaped structural system.
The terrain of Yichang City is relatively complex, with huge differences in height. The western mountains (high mountains, middle mountains, and low mountains with an altitude greater than 500 meters) are the main body of the entire landform, accounting for 69% of the city's total area. They are mainly distributed in Xingshan, Zigui, Changyang, Wufeng and other counties and the western and northern parts of Yiling District. It is extremely prone to geological disasters. Most of the mountains are around a thousand meters above sea level. Many mountains are above 2,000 meters above sea level. Fairy Mountain in Xingshan County is 2,427 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in the city. There are many canyons in the mountainous area, some are majestic and steep, with cliffs towering into the clouds; some are deep, beautiful and winding. There are such canyons in the Yangtze River, Qingjiang River, Xiangxi River and Huangbai River basins. Xiling Gorge, one of the world-famous Yangtze River Three Gorges, is one of them. The central hills are located in the transition zone between mountains and plains. They are formed by long-term weathering, erosion and cutting of low mountains or gentle slopes and continuous high terraces. They have an altitude of ?100~?500 meters and a slope of 5~25 degrees. They account for the total area 21, distributed in the east of Yuan'an, Yidu, Yiling and the north of Dangyang. The eastern plain is located on the western edge of Jianghan Plain, with an altitude below 100 meters, a relative height difference of less than 20 meters, and a slope below 5 degrees. Yanglin Lake in Zhijiang is 35 meters above sea level, the lowest point in the city. Accounting for 10% of the total area, it is distributed in Zhijiang, the southeast of Dangyang, the southeast of the city, and Yidu and Yuan'an along the Yangtze River, both sides of the lower reaches of the Qingjiang River, and both sides of the Juzhang River valley. It is the essence of farming operations. In addition, there are many karst terrains in the city, mainly distributed in mountains and hills such as Wufeng, Changyang, Xingshan, Zigui, and Yidu. The karst terrain is diverse and there are many places with strange mountains, beautiful rocks, strange caves and beautiful water, making it a good place for tourism.
Xiangfan City is located in the northwest of Hubei Province, in the upper reaches of the Han River and the remaining veins of the Qinling Mountains. It is in the transition zone from the second to the third ladder of terrain in my country, with an altitude between 2000 meters and 44 meters. It governs three counties. Three cities, three urban districts and three development zones, namely Gucheng, Nanzhang and Baokang counties, three county-level cities of Zaoyang, Yicheng and Laohekou, three urban districts of Xiangcheng, Fancheng and Xiangyang, high-tech development zone , Automotive Industry Development Zone, and Yuliangzhou Tourism Economic Development Zone.
The city covers an area of ??19,700 square kilometers and has a population of 5.7738 million. Among them, Xiangfan's urban area covers an area of ??3,564 square kilometers and has a population of 2.18 million. The built-up area covers an area of ??95 square kilometers. It is the second largest city in Hubei Province. In 1986, it was approved by the state as one of the second batch of national historical and cultural cities, and in 1996, it was designated as a large city by the Ministry of Construction. In 2002, the city's GDP reached 45.66 billion yuan, the regional fiscal revenue was 3.65 billion yuan, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 6,506 yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2,564 yuan. The degree of economic development is at the upper-middle level in Hubei Province, and it is an important wing in the "Grand Golden Triangle" of Hubei Jianghan Urban Economic Zone.
From this point of view, Xiangfan still occupies the second largest city in Hubei. If there are fewer corrupt officials, I think Xiangfan still has a future. If there are a few more eldest grandson Chuyin, younger grandson Chuyin, old grandson Chuyin, and daughter grandson Chuyin , male Sun Chuyin, I think sooner or later he will be surpassed by Yichang.
