Original text:

Everyone has a great compassion, and Vimalakirti has the same heart to execute him; there is true interest everywhere, and the eaves of a golden house are not two places. If you just want to hide your love, if you miss it in person, you will be thousands of miles away.

Translation:

Everyone has great compassion in their hearts. Vimalakīrti and butchers and executioners do not have two different minds. The true meaning of life is found everywhere. A luxurious golden house and a simple thatched hut are not two different places. It's just that people are obscured by emotions and desires, and they miss the true meaning in person, even though they are only a short distance apart and feel like thousands of miles apart.

Notes

Before the true nature is realized, it will become troubles due to bad conditions, but it will remain unchanged. Achieving Bodhi by following good and pure conditions will not change.
