(1) Because of Hitler's sweet words, Britain pursued a policy of appeasement in an attempt to achieve peace in Europe by satisfying Germany's appetite for aggression and expansion. Because British public opinion did not want to launch a large-scale war after World War I, people expected "peace". But if Britain is tough, Chamberlain thinks Britain will be replaced by war, and if Germany is appeased, Britain will get peace.

(2) Germany invaded Czechoslovakia. After Germany invaded and annexed Czechoslovakia, it gained a lot of Czech gold and foreign exchange, arms production capacity, population and labor resources, which laid a solid economic, military and labor foundation for Germany to continue its aggression.

(3) The appeasement policy of Britain and France not only failed to achieve the goal of peace, but made Germany stronger and counterproductive.
