Other foreign currencies are not convertible in China. If an individual purchases foreign exchange equivalent to less than US$50,000 within one year, it can be handled directly at the bank with his or her valid identity document. If the amount exceeds the limit, in addition to a valid personal identity document, relevant supporting documents for payment should also be provided to a designated foreign exchange bank for processing.
