I think I have a say in this issue, unlike some people who only do keyboard man.
I have been in Dongguan for nine years. During this period, due to work reasons, I was in charge of East China Branch for one year. At that time, I was in charge of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, so I have also been to cities in these provinces.
Suzhou and Dongguan are two cities with completely different genes. If we have to compare these two cities, all they can compare is GDP.
But how does a GDP explain the difference between the two cities?
Suzhou is a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, with many small bridges and flowing water, and its gardens are even more famous.
Dongguan is a place with Lingnan customs and a hundred schools of thought contend, with a wide variety of fruits.
Regarding urban construction, Suzhou has a clear city center, while Dongguan has 33 towns, each of which is very developed and has its own industry, so you can't find the so-called city center in Dongguan at all, because there are city centers everywhere.
About sex. This thing exists in any economically developed city or region, and any city has a red light district.
Dongguan is famous because the manufacturing industry here is very developed. Many people have never been to Dongguan at all, and they simply don't realize that every bus is crowded every day, and they are all wage earners in their twenties.
It is said that the economic recession in Dongguan is caused by the elimination of pornography. In fact, the reason is just the opposite. It was the economic recession that led to the decline of the yellow industry. Except for the yellow industry, all other industries are declining. Many people reverse the causal relationship, but think they know everything.
Dongguan and Suzhou are both new first-tier cities. There is a saying that Dongguan is in the south and Suzhou is in the north in China's manufacturing territory and the positioning of "world factory", but compared with Suzhou, although Dongguan belongs to the same level, there is still a big gap.
On the economic aggregate, Dongguan lost hundreds of billions. On the industrial structure, Dongguan mainly focuses on light industry, undertaking the industrial transfer of Shenzhen and Guangzhou, and many mobile phone manufacturers are here. Suzhou is similar to Foshan, with heavy industry as the main industry, more foreign capital and Taiwan capital, and more strength in state-owned enterprises and private enterprises.
As for infrastructure, in addition to Suzhou University and China Renmin University Suzhou Campus, many universities such as the National University of Singapore have campuses in Suzhou, and China has always said that it is in Qingdao, central Suzhou and southern Shenzhen. Dongguan has just started to build Dongguan Institute of Technology, and it is too late to start.
Of course, if we talk about other supporting facilities, such as medical care and transportation, Suzhou is close to Shanghai and Nanjing, and Dongguan is close to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, which is basically the same. But when it comes to cultural inheritance, Suzhou, as the core of Jiangnan culture, is probably better than "Dongguan-style service".
I don't think so. The main contents are as follows:
Although Suzhou and Dongguan are almost all industrial cities, Suzhou's industrial base is stronger than Dongguan's and Suzhou's industry is more developed than Dongguan's. Suzhou is located in the Yangtze River Delta and Dongguan is located in the Pearl River Delta, both of which are very developed. But Suzhou is not only an industry, but also has a strong position in finance and economy. Moreover, the industry in Dongguan is relatively simple, and basically there is nothing but industry. Suzhou also has finance, tourism and so on.
Second, considering the reality, Suzhou is better than Dongguan in GDP and other aspects, for the following reasons: First, the traffic in Dongguan is not as good as that in Suzhou, and Suzhou's expressways rank first in the country, while traffic jams and public transportation in Dongguan are very scarce. Second, Suzhou is more livable than Dongguan. Suzhou is a garden city with good environment and good air. Compared with Suzhou, Dongguan still has a lot of room for improvement.
Thirdly, I think these two cities give people different feelings. Few people like to take public transportation in Dongguan. Public transportation in Dongguan is really ... Suzhou's nightlife and commercial facilities are more developed for Dongguan. As soon as I entered Suzhou, I felt it was a Jiangnan city with a unique flavor. The environment is also very good. But when I arrived in Dongguan, I felt very different.
To sum up, I think Dongguan and Suzhou are not in the same echelon. Dongguan still has a lot of room for improvement for Suzhou.
Dongguan and Suzhou are prefecture-level cities under the jurisdiction of Guangdong and Jiangsu respectively. In recent years, it has been selected into new first-tier cities for many times. From the perspective of development model, the two are almost the same. All are export-oriented economies, all are ordinary prefecture-level cities, and all are industrial cities dominated by manufacturing. Suzhou is next to Shanghai, and Dongguan is sandwiched between Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Both of them have got industrial spillover from first-tier cities and developed very well!
Of course, the overall strength of Suzhou is much stronger than that of Dongguan. Needless to say, Suzhou's history, culture, science, education and humanities. In this respect, it can be said that Dongguan is a national historical and cultural city and has been a prosperous city since ancient times. Dongguan was originally only a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Huizhou, and 1988 was upgraded to a prefecture-level city in line with economic development. According to the ranking of the top 100 cities in China released by Wharton Economic Research Institute, Suzhou ranks seventh and Dongguan ranks 28th.
Suzhou is also much larger than Dongguan, covering an area of about 8,488 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 65.438+0.072 million and a GDP of 654.38+0.85974 billion yuan, and is known as "the most cattle prefecture-level city in China". Dongguan covers an area of only 2,465 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 8.34 million and a GDP of 827.859 billion yuan, equivalent to 44.5% of Suzhou. Dongguan is also very strong, known as the "world factory".
In recent years, both Dongguan and Suzhou have done a good job in economic transformation. By the end of 20 18, Dongguan had 5,798 national high-tech enterprises, second only to the four first-tier cities in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Suzhou, on the other hand, has 54 16 national high-tech enterprises, following Dongguan. The smart phone industry in Dongguan is developed, and a number of Dongguan-made and Dongguan brands such as Huawei, OPPO and vivo have emerged, which have gradually developed into leading enterprises. Suzhou is currently striving to upgrade its urban development platform.
I come from Jiangsu, and I work in Dongguan. I want to say that Suzhou is not as good as Dongguan except for the county-level cities below. Dongguan has no county-level cities but towns. Dongguan used to be a county. Dongguan has a population of more than 8 million, of which more than 6 million are foreigners, and1100 million are locals. What about Suzhou? Can you attract more foreigners than Dongguan? In addition, Shenzhen is basically developed by foreigners. Why? Only when the city is attractive can some people work hard, and those with culture and entrepreneurial ability will go to work. In addition, I think every city in Jiangsu ranks very high, not to mention those from other provinces, and those in this province are very high. Basically, every city and even county has its own business, and its family planning control is so good that its ability to attract foreigners is not strong. Nobody talks about development. Southern Jiangsu is better, attracting people from central Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu. There are fewer and fewer locals in central Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu, and fewer and fewer foreigners come, which is doomed to decline.
Let's briefly compare several aspects.
1: Suzhou is much higher than Dongguan in terms of cultural heritage.
As an ancient poem goes, there is a frosty night in Suzhou, and Jiang Feng is worried about sleeping. In the lonely Hanshan Temple outside Suzhou, the bell that rang in the middle of the night reached the passenger ship. In life, there are paradise and Suzhou and Hangzhou.
In terms of natural attractions, Suzhou has beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake.
As far as places of interest are concerned, Suzhou gardens are the best in the world.
Suzhou is far ahead in terms of celebrities in past dynasties.
2. Economically, Suzhou's GDP and GDP per capita are higher than Dongguan's. Suzhou is the most economically developed city in Jiangsu Province. Is Dongguan the most developed in Guangdong?
From the perspective of modernization, Suzhou's urban construction is more reasonable than Dongguan's. You can go to the industrial park to have a look. The urban layout is more reasonable.
The public security in Suzhou is really good, especially in parks, new districts and ancient cities. It's safe to go out alone at one or two in the evening.
There are many foreigners here in Suzhou, which is very inclusive and the four seasons are clearly suitable for living.
Tell the truth: Suzhou compares Dongguan: there is no comparability! Dongguan is only one third as big as Suzhou: Dongguan used to lead! Later, Suzhou surpassed: the place is too small! For example, East Dongguan is as big as Suzhou; Not bad; Plus seven or eight years ago, I changed the cage for a bird in Liu Zhigeng. As a result, the birds flew and people were gone! 1978, Dongguan lost about 5 million people! The economy will definitely be affected! At present, it is indeed worse than Suzhou: but before Shenzhen: after Guangzhou: Dongguan is ok! Normal mind: just an expression!
Although Suzhou and Dongguan are new first-tier cities, Suzhou is much higher than Dongguan in history, culture, science and technology, education and economy.
As far as GDP is concerned, in 20 18 years, Suzhou's GDP was GDP10.8 trillion, Dongguan's was 0.8 trillion, and Suzhou was 2.5 times that of Dongguan. Suzhou's per capita GDP ranks fourth in the country, while Dongguan can't even get into the top 20. Urban sustainable development ranks Suzhou 10, Dongguan 28. The total amount of funds in Suzhou 1 1, and Dongguan is not in the top 20. Suzhou is the most livable city in Chinese mainland.
Politically speaking, Suzhou and Dongguan are both prefecture-level cities, Suzhou is next to Shanghai, and Dongguan is sandwiched between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, so the geographical position is very good. Dongguan took the lead in developing in the reform and opening up, while Suzhou developed in the southern Jiangsu model in the 1990s. In 20 18, Suzhou's total industrial output value was 3.6 trillion, even higher than Shanghai's 3.3 trillion, making it the highest city in China.
We are no better than urban areas and unit output. Judging from the current economic development, sustainable development and world popularity of the city, I think Suzhou and Dongguan are not at the same level at present. (Personal opinion, welcome to discuss, don't spray if you don't like it)
On ranking, prefecture-level cities, there is still a ladder. As far as fame is concerned, it's different.
Now mention the innovation ability of a city. Yesterday (April 5th), Forbes China released the list of 30 most innovative cities. Suzhou became the biggest dark horse, surpassing Shanghai, ranking third after Shenzhen and Beijing. This has greatly changed people's cognition of Suzhou as a manufacturing base that only makes but does not create. Dongguan, as a gathering place of processing industry, has the old impression of three contributions and one supplement, but it has also made rapid progress in innovation in recent years, ranking seventh in this ranking, indicating that while there is a relatively complete manufacturing industry chain, R&D is also close behind.
The economic performance of these two cities is very good. Although Dongguan lost half of Suzhou's GDP, it is also a developed economic block, especially the foreign trade competition is fierce.
It is unfair to compare Dongguan with Suzhou. Suzhou has been a rich place since ancient times, with outstanding people and outstanding spirit, and its economic level has always been among the best, with a rich history of thousands of years. Dongguan, on the other hand, was fully developed after the reform and opening up. Before the reform and opening up, the economic volume of Dongguan was only equivalent to that of Suzhou 1/5. Considering the geographical area and the original foundation, it is a great achievement to reach today's level.
The economic order of Suzhou and Dongguan is different. Suzhou was once better than Shanghai. In Jiangsu, the economic strength is not lost to Nanjing, the provincial capital, and the GDP exceeds a lot. Known as the most cattle city. Dongguan can't compare with Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong. They are next to Shenzhen, near Guangzhou. The positive role of the two first-tier cities is driving, and the side effect is that resource spillover can only be a supporting role.
The human environment is even worse. There are Suzhou and Hangzhou in the world. Suzhou's cultural accumulation is not only a garden feature, but also a profound educational foundation. Many academicians have been produced. Basketball in Dongguan is developing well, but it can't compare with Suzhou in culture.
If the two cities develop later, the innovative Dongguan can't do Suzhou now, which basically determines that Dongguan can't surpass it for quite some time, so it should be the younger brother.
