SWIFTCode is a bank identification code proposed by the Association and adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Its original name is BIC (bank identification code).
However, the meaning of the name BIC is too broad, and people are worried that it will be interpreted as another bank identification code system, so people gradually call BIC SWIFTCode. This number is equivalent to the ID number of each bank. Every bank (including every branch and sub-branch) has a code, which consists of the English abbreviation of the bank name, the English abbreviation of the head office (also a city with numbers and letters) and the code (letters, numbers or mixed) of the location of the branch.
