Work for HKMA

HKMA attaches great importance to the behavior of its staff. HKMA issued the Code of Conduct (PDF file, 1. 1MB) to provide guidance for employees' moral and legal responsibilities. HKMA requires its employees to abide by these standards at all times.

Post-employment policy

In order to maintain the credibility and effectiveness of HKMA and protect employees' own interests, employees who leave HKMA for other institutions should not be involved in any actual or potential conflicts of interest. In view of this, HKMA has issued a circular entitled "Post-employment Policies and Procedures of HKMA Employees" (PDF file, 120KB), detailing the arrangements to be followed after receiving the notice of termination of employment, the procedures for senior managers or above to apply for permission to take up new jobs in Hong Kong, the conditions that can be attached when granting approval, and the restrictions on official contacts between former employees and current employees. Employees should be familiar with this policy and follow relevant procedures.

Salary policy

The remuneration policy of HKMA is basically as follows:

A. The remuneration and conditions of service of A.HKMA staff are determined by the Financial Secretary. The Financial Secretary made this decision on the advice of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee and its Governing Committee, and with reference to the prevailing market salary level and practice.

B. The remuneration package of B.HKMA is completely calculated in cash, including only some basic benefits, and there is a provident fund plan.

C The salary and benefits of HKMA include two parts: fixed salary paid monthly and floating salary paid once a year according to employees' performance.

D The Financial Secretary reviews the remuneration of HKMA staff every year on the advice of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee and its Governing Committee. The review process will take into account the findings of the survey conducted by independent consultants on the pay trends and pay levels in the financial industry, the evaluation results of HKMA performance and other appropriate factors. According to employees' individual performance, HKMA will pay employees' salaries in one lump sum.

Training and development

HKMA has invested a lot of resources in staff training to enable its staff to have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties more effectively. The training courses provided by HKMA include specialized training in banking supervision, risk management, financial products and information technology, as well as general training in management, language, communication skills and team spirit.
