1. Organize and implement the open market operation of the central bank according to the operational objectives proposed by the head office of the People's Bank of China;
2. To undertake the rediscount business of Shanghai commercial banks and bill franchises;
3. Analyze the influence of market tools on monetary policy and financial stability, monitor and analyze the development of financial markets, and guard against cross-market risks;
4. Closely follow the financial market, undertake the collection, summary and analysis of relevant financial market data, and regularly submit various financial dynamic information and research reports;
5, research and guide the innovation of financial products, and promote the coordinated, healthy and standardized development of financial markets;
6. To undertake relevant regional financial exchanges and cooperation.
According to the authorization of the Head Office, Shanghai Headquarters also undertakes the management of China Foreign Exchange Trading Center (National Interbank Funding Center) and other units directly under the Head Office in Shanghai, as well as the coordinated management of Shanghai Gold Exchange, China UnionPay and other related institutions.
