Thailand hopes to sign free trade agreements with ASEAN countries and inviting countries as soon as possible.
? Thailand pursues a free economic policy and is an export-oriented economy. Its gross national product depends on international import and export trade.
Thailand is the largest net exporter of grain in Asia and one of the five largest exporters of agricultural products in the world. As a big producer and exporter of agricultural products, Thailand's foreign exchange income almost comes from agricultural products exports, so agricultural products tariffs have a great impact on Thailand's economic development. Recently, accelerating the signing of a free trade agreement is Thailand's greatest wish.
As a traditional agricultural country, Thailand's gross national product is mainly based on planting and fishing, and its unique tropical products are the backbone of Thailand's economy, but tariffs on agricultural products have been inhibiting the export of products to a certain extent. Reducing tariffs on agricultural products will greatly promote Thailand's economic development.
In addition, Thailand's secondary and tertiary industries are now booming, accounting for an increasing proportion of the gross national product. The second industry is industry, and Thai industry is mainly export-oriented economy; In the tertiary industry, tourism is the main industry, which has promoted the rapid development of the whole service industry. More and more foreign tourists visit Thailand, which greatly promotes the development of tourism and other service industries in Thailand.
Many countries in Southeast Asia are middle-income developing countries, and their economic situation is similar to that of Thailand. Therefore, establishing a free trade zone as soon as possible, reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, implementing a "zero" tariff policy among countries, opening their markets to each other and cooperating closely will bring great economic benefits to the ten ASEAN countries and the six inviting countries. This is the most important reason why we are so looking forward to the smooth progress of this negotiation and the realization of the goal of economic cooperation.
We hope to deepen RCEP and promote regional economic integration, which will not only accelerate the economic development of all countries, but also promote friendly exchanges between ASEAN countries, promote the economic development of ASEAN region and achieve the goal of win-win cooperation.
Thailand is one of the founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Promoting the deepening of RCEP reflects Thailand's responsibility as a founding member and will also encourage more countries to carry out economic exchanges and cooperation with Thailand. Increase Thailand's international trade volume and promote Thailand's economic development. In addition, Thailand is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and the World Trade Organization, so we have reason to believe that we will go all out to promote RCEP to achieve a series of goals such as eliminating internal trade barriers, creating and improving a free investment environment, and expanding service trade.
Moreover, in recent years, China's economic development is getting better and better, and its gross national product is gradually increasing. Therefore, we believe that with the help of ASEAN countries, we can promote the economic development of Southeast Asia. We can not only start its development, but also promote its sustained and stable development. Achieve the goal of GDP accounting for one-third of the global annual GDP, and officially replace the EU as the world's largest economy. Strive to build a highly liberalized free trade zone with the largest population, the most diverse members and the most dynamic development in the world. Constantly enhance ASEAN's international status and influence in development, and let the world look at the once backward ASEAN region with new eyes.
However, the realization of the goal of RCEP still faces many challenges, such as the obstruction of WTO negotiations to promote global free trade, unresolved contradictions and disputes among RCEP participating countries, and competition with TPP. These are the problems we will face. However, we believe that as long as all members of RCEP work together, we will be able to overcome difficulties and achieve the goal of RCEP. Really build Southeast Asia into a highly developed free trade zone and turn ASEAN into the largest economy in the world.
Win-win cooperation and realize our grand blueprint.
