Hello, I am very happy to answer this question for you. The following strict regulations exist for personal foreign exchange. The single amount of pre-settlement remittance is temporarily limited to the equivalent of US$50,000 (inclusive). Among them, overseas banks can handle remittances with an equivalent value of less than 10,000 US dollars (inclusive) directly; for remittances with an equivalent value of 10,000 to 50,000 US dollars (inclusive), overseas banks need to review the remitter's identity certificate and fund source certificate, and retain the remittance. A copy of the person's identity certificate and a copy of the source of funds certificate are required for future reference.
When an overseas institution or individual wants to remit money from overseas to you in China or to a deposit account opened by you in a bank in China, it is best for you to provide our bank with the corresponding currency in advance according to the currency of the remittance. The currency remittance route guide (for specific remittance route guidelines, please call the bank customer service) and relevant information about you as the payee are provided to the overseas remitter. The main information includes: the name of the payee (you) (i.e. the Mandarin Chinese Pinyin that is consistent with the name on your ID, or the Mandarin Chinese Pinyin that is consistent with your receiving account name), the complete current multi-currency account number of our bank (or card number), the full name of the beneficiary bank (i.e. our bank) (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China), the beneficiary bank (i.e. our bank) swift code, the payee's contact number and mailing address (English) and other information.
So just holding the card cannot show that others are remitting foreign currency. You can only go to the Bank of China’s website or take the payee’s relevant information (ID card) to the bank’s counter for consultation. And on the other hand, it takes two to three working days for the bank card to actually arrive in your account. Hope my answer will be helpful to you.
