Direct orders are all linked to the US dollar, such as GBP/USD (GBP, USD) and USD/JPY (USD/JPY). If the American economy is bad, the dollar depreciates and the pound will rise against the dollar, then we should do more (buy pounds and sell dollars), and we should short the dollar against the yen (sell dollars and buy yen). The US economy is improving, but the appreciation of the US dollar is the opposite. But the participants here are big importers and exporters, central banks, speculators and so on. Some people will long dollars, while others will short dollars, which will almost never balance. When the long and short positions are equal, the exchange rate will be consolidated.
