The difference between FRM financial risk manager and CFA chartered financial analyst
Examination knowledge points
CFA is biased towards investment, which is comprehensive, including financial analysis, stock investment, economics, professional ethics and so on, which FRM does not have. It contains several times more knowledge points than FRM, but for a fund manager, these are all necessary knowledge.
FRM is biased towards risk management, with a large proportion of quantification. FRM explains the market/operation/credit risk more deeply. I'm afraid the Basel Accord part of FRM can't be used outside commercial banks, but commercial banks welcome people with Basel Accord experience.
