Huang Huali was awarded a tribute in the Tang Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Hainan was vigorously developed, and a large number of high-quality Huang Huali flowed into the court and powerful families. By the end of Qing Dynasty, Hainan Island was basically extinct. After the Opium War, people temporarily lost their attention to Huang Huali, and the number of Huang Huali recovered to some extent because Hainan Island was far away from the war zone. However, after liberation, especially during the steelmaking period of 1958, the newly restored Huang Huali was cut down again, and the forest coverage rate of Hainan Island dropped directly from 80% to 47%, and countless Huang Huali was unreasonably destroyed. To make matters worse, in the early days of reform and opening up, the country's foreign exchange was tight, and Huang Huali exported a large amount of foreign exchange because it could be used as the raw material of fine Buddha incense.
