The increase in the number of elephants in Botswana is mainly due to the ban on elephant hunting issued by former President Ian Kama. This ban was promulgated in 20 14, which severely cracked down on elephant poaching and provided a guarantee for the rapid increase of elephant population. In addition, because it is difficult for elephants in the northern region to get enough food, they gradually migrate to densely populated areas, which also increases the number of elephants in Botswana.
