Economically, C9 19 can make China civil aviation no longer rely on mid-level trunk passenger planes imported from Europe and America, break the monopoly of European and American aviation giants, and save a lot of foreign exchange for the country.
On the military side, because it is too fat, the maximum takeoff weight is 200 tons, which is not suitable for being converted into a special plane. There is great potential to refit large military special aircraft such as early warning aircraft and high-tech aircraft with C9 19. Although the probability that C9 19 will be converted into a military fighter is very small at present, it is not completely impossible for C9 19 to be used for both military and civilian purposes after China fully grasps all the technologies of C9 19 and can realize the localization of 100%.
From the perspective of social benefits, C9 19 project can promote the development of upstream and downstream industries, increase a large number of high-income jobs and stimulate local economic development.
Technically, C9 19 can train talents in the design and manufacture of trunk passenger aircraft in China aviation industry, train a group of aviation talents, and improve the level of civil aviation industry in China. In addition, the R&D and manufacturing of C9 19 large aircraft have formed civil aviation industrial clusters in Shenyang, Chengdu, Xi, Shanghai and Nanchang, which not only promoted the local economic development, but also laid a solid foundation for the future R&D and domestic aircraft manufacturing.
