The college has seven departments, namely: Chinese, history, cultural classics, advertising, cultural communication, archival science and sociology; There are 7 research institutes, namely: Ancient Books Arrangement Institute, Literature Research Institute, Language Research Institute, Changjiang Culture Research Institute, Children's Literature Research Institute, Dunhuang Turpan Research Institute and China Creative Industry Research Institute; There are 0/4 research centers, namely: China Cultural Research Center, China Modern Society Research Center, Logic Research Center, China Comfort Women Research Center, Africa Research Center, Song History Research Center, China History Education Research Center, Women's Research Center, China New Advertising Research Center, Community College Development Research Center, Overseas China Ancient Literature Research Center, E-government Resource Research Center, China Aesthetics Research Center and Modern Publishing Research Center. Shanghai University has two electronic schools, namely the School of Urban Culture and the School of Comparative Linguistics. More than 30% graduates of this major can go to graduate school directly, and the rest are employed by government agencies, newspapers, TV stations, magazines and other units.
