The People's Bank of China is the central bank of People's Republic of China (PRC) and one of the constituent departments of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the State Council, with its headquarters in Beijing.
The People's Bank of China was established in 1 948 65438+February1. It was formed by the merger of former North China Bank, Beihai Bank and Northwest Farmers Bank. When it was founded, its head office was located in Shijiazhuang, and 1949 moved to Beijing. On August 10, 2005, the Shanghai headquarters of the People's Bank of China was established in Shanghai.
Article 7 of Chapter 1 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the People's Bank of China stipulates:
