Thailand travel credit card
The use right of UnionPay card in Thailand was opened on 1 month 10 in 2005. South Korea and Singapore also opened at the same time. This is undoubtedly very convenient for friends who travel abroad. This article is to explain in detail the related matters of using UnionPay cards in Thailand!

Any RMB bank card with UnionPay logo issued by mainland banks can be used at ATMs and merchant sales terminals (POS) with UnionPay logo in Thailand. The procedures and operations for cardholders to use UnionPay cards in Thailand are basically the same as those in China. Specifically, when using a credit card, the cardholder needs to enter the card password. If you don't have a password, press confirm directly.

UnionPay specially reminds mainland cardholders who are not used to swiping cards. When you use a card abroad, whether it is a debit card or a credit card, you should reserve your signature on the back of the card and sign the shopping list when you consume it, so that the cashier can check it. Another purpose of this is that once the ATM swallows the card, if there is no signature on the signature strip on the back of the card, it is not convenient to confirm the identity of the cardholder, and it will also encounter obstacles in retrieving the swallowed card locally.

According to the relevant regulations of the People's Bank of China and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, the use of RMB UnionPay cards abroad is limited to the consumption expenditure and small cash withdrawal under current items such as shopping, catering, accommodation, transportation and medical care.

When withdrawing cash from overseas ATMs of UnionPay cards, the daily accumulated amount of each card shall not exceed the equivalent of RMB 5,000. You can't withdraw cash through overseas bank counters or through merchant POS machines.

China UnionPay will control the types of merchants who use RMB cards overseas in the system, and completely prohibit transactions related to gambling, inter-bank transfer and capital projects. And limit the amount of transactions that may involve trade and some special non-trade services.

Generally speaking, there is no handling fee for overseas credit card consumption. Except for some specific goods, when you consume, the salesperson will explain it to you! There is a charge for ATM withdrawal, and different card-issuing banks will have different rates. For example, Guangfa Bank charges a handling fee of 3% of each withdrawal amount, with a minimum of 15 yuan. ICBC and CCB charge 1% plus 10 yuan for each withdrawal.

When cardholders use UnionPay cards in Thailand, the currency of cash withdrawal and consumption is local currency. After the withdrawal and consumption are completed, China UnionPay will convert the amount into RMB according to the market exchange rate on the transaction day and provide it to the mainland card-issuing bank, which will deduct the cardholder's account balance immediately, so there is no exchange rate risk for the cardholder.

If the cardholder loses his card, he should call the local customer service hotline or directly call the mainland card issuing bank to report the loss orally, and then go through the relevant written procedures after returning to the mainland.

If the machine swallows the card due to ATM failure, misoperation or forgetting to take the card, you need to bring valid documents (passport or resident ID card, etc.). ) Go to the ATM Sub-branch in Tunka within 3 days from the next day (postponed in case of holidays). If you don't go through the card collection procedures within this time period, the local bank will destroy the card after swallowing it for three days, and the cardholder needs to apply for a replacement card after returning to the mainland.
