In the international cotton export market, Egypt and the United States account for 7 1.9% of the world's total long-staple cotton output, of which Egypt ranks first with 43.6%, followed by the United States with 28.3%. The quality of Egyptian long-staple cotton enjoys a high reputation in the world. The cultivation and export of long-staple cotton has always played an important role in Egypt's agriculture and agricultural products export, and it is also the main source of its foreign exchange income.
