What are the international reserve currencies?
At present, the international reserve currencies mainly include US dollar, Euro, RMB, Japanese yen and British pound. These five currencies constitute SDR in a certain proportion, that is, Special Drawing Rights (SDR). SDR is an international payment method founded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which can be used to settle the deficit in the balance of payments, and can also be used as an international reserve like gold and freely convertible currencies.
The status of a country's currency in the world mainly depends on the economic status of the host country. There is no doubt about the economic strength of currency-issuing countries such as the US dollar, the euro, the RMB, the Japanese yen and the British pound, and their trade also accounts for a large proportion in the world, so their currencies naturally have a high status in the world.
