Three major services of network operators
Compared with the 2G era, operators have different standard networks in the 3G era, which makes the differentiation between them more obvious and prominent, which means that in the 3G era, the competition among operators will be more intense, especially in the network itself. Both China Mobile, the leader in the 2G era, and China Unicom and China Telecom, which want to rise, have prepared enough horsepower in the 3G era. At the same time, in order to ensure the leading edge in the network, the three major operators have focused on network upgrading. So we will see many concepts about 3G upgrade and even 4G network. If 2009 is the first year of 3G construction, then 20 10 will be a year of high-speed network upgrade.

China Telecom: EV-DO upgraded from A to B.

China Telecom has the most comprehensive network coverage among the three operators. As early as last year, in 2009 of 10, the national 3G network coverage was completed. 20 10, China Telecom started the upgrade from EV-DOA to EV-DOB. The upgraded EV-DOB has a downlink rate of 9.3Mbps and an uplink rate of 5.4Mbps, which is three times that of China Telecom's 3G network. Beijing Telecom, together with relevant manufacturers, conducted a comprehensive on-site network test on the peak rate, system throughput, time delay and multimedia service experience of EV-DOB version network, and Guangzhou Telecom also launched the second domestic EV-DOB pre-commercial network. China Telecom completed the field test at the beginning of 20 1 1, and started to upgrade the EV-DOB network in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other big cities in the first half of 20 12. If the effect is good, China Telecom also indicated that it will start the commercial deployment of LTE network on 20 12 at the end of this year.

China Unicom: marching into HSPA+

China Unicom will upgrade WCDMA network, and the next step will mainly be HSPA+. The peak rate of HSPA+ network can reach 2 1Mbps, 28Mbps, 42Mbps or even 84Mbps according to different technologies. At present, the technology adopted by Unicom 3G network terminals can reach up to 7.2Mbps for downlink and 5.76Mbps for uplink, which means that the speed of HSPA+ network is at least 1.5 times that of the existing Unicom 3G network. Under HSPA+ network, we can download a 5MB MP3 song, which can be completed in 2 ~ 3 seconds.

At present, China Unicom has cooperated with Huawei, Ericsson and ZTE, three mainstream WCDMA network equipment suppliers, to carry out network testing of HSPA+, and it is expected that HSPA+ networks will be upgraded and deployed in some important cities in China in the second half of the year. Unicom conducted a comprehensive test on HSPA+ technology of these three equipment vendors, including outdoor user rate, system throughput, network coverage performance and other items. The outdoor average rate test reached 18.5Mbps, and the indoor average rate test reached 19. 1Mbps. According to the explanation of test experts, Unicom's network test is to prepare for the next network upgrade, and the test results will be an important basis for Unicom to finally choose which company to build HSPA+ network.

China Mobile: TD is one step closer to LTE.

Different from China Unicom and China Telecom, due to the characteristics of the network itself, China Mobile will take a step closer to 4G in network upgrade after launching the 3G network adopting TD-SCDMA standard, which means that it will leapfrog the HSPA stage, and its current upgraded network is called TD-LTE, which is the "quasi-4G" standard.

At present, China Mobile has opened the first TD-LTE network in China at the Shanghai World Expo venue. In the field test, the transmission rate is as high as 70Mbps, which is more than 20 times of the current 3G technology. Datang, Huawei, ZTE, Shanghai Bell, Putian, Fiberhome, New Post, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, Motorola and other 10 system equipment manufacturers participated in the TD-LTE R&D technology test at this stage. In the ongoing TD-LTE technology test, only Lenovo, Hisense and Yulong are involved. Foreign mobile phone manufacturers have no clear plans for TD-LTE terminals, and the TD-LTE terminals serving the World Expo are limited to data card products. During the World Expo, China Mobile will focus on the high-speed TD-LTE network, and will also display the LTE data network card for the first time. It is understood that the data card is 50 times faster than the current 3G data card.

Judging from the network situation that the three major operators will develop this year, theoretically, the uplink and downlink rates of TD-LTE of China Mobile are more prominent, followed by China Unicom and China Telecom. However, it should be noted that this is only the theoretical value and part of the test results, and it cannot widely represent the rate and results after commercialization. Operators also have to consider many factors before they can finally put the network into commercial use, and there is still a long way to go before everyone can generally accept the new network. Finally, whether customers can be attracted to the network depends on the stability of the network and the price of the package.

In addition, while upgrading the network first, operators will also improve and maintain the existing network to a certain extent this year. China Telecom has completed CDMA network coverage, and its investment scale will be reduced this year, mainly focusing on improving the efficiency of network construction; China Mobile and China Unicom will continue to complete infrastructure construction, focusing on improving 3G network capacity. In IDC field, China Telecom is undoubtedly the largest in business scale and the largest in network resources. The coastal areas of East China, South China and Southwest China are the main coverage areas of telecommunications. China Netcom ranks second, and its computer room network and telecommunications "Yangtze River governance" are mainly distributed in North China and surrounding areas; China Tietong ranks third, and its main resources are concentrated in North China and Northeast China. China Mobile and China Unicom also have a small amount of computer room resources, but they are generally cooperative, and the computer room scale is not large, so they take a small amount of bandwidth from telecom.

In addition, the length and width not mentioned above actually have their own lines, but lack of computer room resources, but there are long and wide lines in some multi-line computer rooms; CLP Huatong, known as the seventh largest network operator in China, has a lot of computer room resources from all over the country, but it is also a form of cooperation, mainly using telecom bandwidth and also having its own two-line computer room. China United Communications Co., Ltd. was established in July 1994. The establishment of China Unicom has introduced competition in the field of basic telecommunications services in China, which has played a positive role in promoting the reform and development of China's telecommunications industry.

China Unicom has established more than 300 branches and subsidiaries in 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. China Unicom is the only telecom operator listed in new york, Hongkong and Shanghai at the same time. In June 2000, the company successfully went public in Hongkong and new york, raising 5.65 billion US dollars, ranking among the top ten in the history of initial public offering in the world. From June 5438 to 10, 2002, the company successfully completed the A-share listing in Shanghai and became the largest listed company in the domestic capital market. China Unicom insists on market-oriented, efficiency-centered, unified planning of network construction, rational use of network resources, focusing on maintaining sustained, healthy and rapid development with the help of social forces, and striving to provide comprehensive, convenient and distinctive telecommunications services for the society.

Since its establishment, the overall strength of China Unicom has been continuously enhanced. Telecom business has developed from mobile phone (GSM) and wireless paging at the beginning of its establishment to mobile phone, long-distance phone, local phone, data communication (including Internet service and IP phone), telecom value-added service, wireless paging and other services related to its main business.

Looking forward to the future, China Unicom will combine "mobile-oriented, all-round development; Coordination and differential operation between two networks; With the strategic development idea of "efficiency leading, bigger and stronger", we will continue to promote the innovation and in-depth development of various human resources management systems, and build the company into a "evenly matched and distinctive" market competitor in the China communication market, and rank among the world-class telecom operators!
