Xingfeng, Raoping County, featuring Clark blue and white porcelain and the birthplace of Hakka earth buildings in Guangdong, was selected. Xingfeng, located in the northern mountainous area of Raoping County, is the largest professional production town of daily-use ceramics in Guangdong Province. Porcelain industry originated in the Southern Song Dynasty. Xinfeng porcelain industry is famous for its rich porcelain clay resources, advanced technical equipment and exquisite manufacturing technology, and it is also one of the main production bases of ceramics in eastern Guangdong. It has the largest scale, the most advanced equipment, the highest output and the most foreign exchange earned, and its products are exported to more than 20 countries and regions such as Western Europe, South Africa, North America and the Middle East.
This county is the birthplace of ceramics and one of the main production bases of modern daily-use ceramics in China, with the largest underground hot spring resources in eastern Guangdong. At present, the town has formed five major tourist functional areas, including Gu Lou viewing, characteristic agricultural sightseeing, religious tourism, hot spring health bath, and leisure and summer vacation. 20 1 1 In July, Xingfeng was identified by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the National Tourism Administration as the "second batch of national famous scenic towns" demonstration unit.
At the awarding ceremony that day, Zhou Jiucai, deputy director of the Policy and Regulation Department of the National Tourism Administration, announced the decision to award Xingfeng as the second batch of famous towns with national characteristics. Xingfeng is rich in tourism resources, and was awarded the title of "Famous Tourism Town with Ethnic Characteristics" by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the National Tourism Administration. Five tourist functional areas have been built, namely Hongfa Temple, the largest temple in Raoping (religious tourism), Fengrun Building, a Hakka earth building with archaeological value listed as provincial protection (for viewing in Gu Lou), Dingkeng Summer Resort, Tian Fengshan Tea House (for green ecology), hot spring bathing with unique underground hot spring resources, and ceramics making and viewing.
Xinfeng culture belongs to the fusion version of Chaoshan culture and Hakka culture, which is very distinctive. Most Xinfeng people can speak Chaoshan dialect and Hakka dialect. Throughout Raoping County, there are 655 Hakka earth buildings of various shapes, which were basically built between Wanli period of Ming Dynasty and Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. The famous Hakka earth buildings in Xingfeng are Honglou, Feng Run, Wuquan and Qingfeng.
Among them, Feng Runlou, which was built in the light years of Qing Dynasty, is one of the largest and more distinctive Hakka earth buildings in Raoping, and was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province in July 2002. The building is exquisite and compact. Although it has experienced vicissitudes, it is now well protected and has high historical, artistic and scientific research value. As a typical Hakka residential building, Fengrunlou witnessed the history of hard struggle of the Hakka people in Raobei.
