Parameters affecting engine performance
1, maximum power
The maximum power refers to the maximum power that the engine can output, and the unit is horsepower, which is related to the speed. Under the condition of normal fuel supply, the output power of the engine increases with the increase of speed, and at a certain critical point, the power will reach the maximum, at which time the power is the maximum power and the speed is the maximum power speed.
2. Maximum torque
Refers to the torque of the engine crankshaft, which can be understood as the effect directly acting on the automobile. The greater the torque, the easier it is for the car to move under the same conditions. There is a speed range with maximum torque. You can obviously feel that the car is not strong enough when it is out of range, and it is generally within the maximum torque range when driving normally.
3. Air intake mode
There are two air intake methods: natural air intake and pressurized air intake. Natural air intake is the most primitive air intake method, which relies on the negative pressure generated by the piston downward to inhale without any assistance. Pressurized air intake actually increases the air intake, so it can reduce emissions while maintaining the same power, which is also divided into turbocharging and mechanical increase.
4. Number of cylinders
The number of cylinders can also represent the power of the car to some extent. Generally speaking, the more cylinders, the better and smoother the power of the car. However, the more cylinders, the more fuel consumption and displacement.
5. Number of valves
Valve number refers to the number of valves contained in each cylinder, which can be divided into intake valve and exhaust valve. Generally speaking, the number of valves will affect the emission and speed of the engine.
