What should the remitter do if the foreign remittance is returned?
When telegraphic transfer or remittance is returned, the remitter shall submit a written application and return the original remittance receipt. The remitting bank shall indicate the reason and date of remittance withdrawal on the remittance card, and then notify the remitting bank of remittance withdrawal by telegram. Once the remitting bank replies, the remitting bank will notify the remitter to refund the remittance. When the bill is returned, the remitter shall submit a written application to return the original bill (it shall be endorsed). After verification, the remitting bank shall affix a "cancellation" stamp on the draft and go through the refund procedures. The returned bills are attached to the remittance refund summons to inform the remittance bank to cancel the returned bills.
