This muzzle device is the biggest difference in appearance between AK74 and AKM. Compared with AK47 and AKM, the accuracy of AK74 is greatly improved.

AK-74 inherits the tradition of Kalashnikov rifle, with simple structure, portability, firmness, convenient use, reliable action and few faults. It is one of the smallest caliber automatic rifles produced and equipped in the world.
AK 100 series
After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, in order to earn foreign exchange in the export market, Russia began to launch AK- 100 series assault rifles with different calibers on the basis of AK-74M. AK- 10 1 and AK- 103 are standard assault rifles; AK- 102, AK- 104 and AK- 105 are all short assault rifles. Three kinds of ammunition were used, namely, 5.56×45mm NATO bullet, 7.62×39mm M43 bullet and 5.45×39mm M74 bullet. AK- 100 series was not designed by Kalashnikov.
