The most convenient way is to apply for a UnionPay card (ordinary savings card). Because UnionPay cards are connected to the Internet in Japan, you can withdraw cash from ATMs with the UnionPay logo. The machine automatically converts the exchange rate when withdrawing money.
According to Chinese customs regulations, you can exchange all of it into Japanese yen in advance and carry it with you. According to current regulations, the amount of foreign currency cash that can be carried out of the country is limited to the equivalent of 5,000 U.S. dollars, and 30,000 RMB is converted according to today’s exchange rate. The adult yen is about 403,087.5 yen, which is only equivalent to 4,394.46 US dollars. There is no limit of more than 5,000 US dollars, so you can carry cash directly.
If the cash you bring exceeds this limit, but the equivalent does not exceed US$10,000, first apply for a "Permit for Carrying Foreign Exchange Out of the Country" from the bank. When leaving the country, the customs will inspect and release the goods with the "Carrying Permit" stamped with the bank's seal.
