kX driver initial settings
(1) After the kX driver is installed, the first thing is to reverse the front and rear outputs of the speaker. The kX driver defaults to reversing the front and rear outputs. If they are swapped, there will be a difference in the sound card output mode. So we need to plug the speaker cable that was previously plugged into the front output port (green) of the sound card to the rear output port (black); the speaker cable that was previously plugged into the rear output port (black) of the sound card is now plugged into Plug it into the front output port (green), and leave the rest unchanged. Because of the SLIVE hardware design, the rear output is not based on AC97 and does not have the inherent defect of SRC. Therefore, using the rear output can get better output sound quality than the front. This is why the sound quality of the kX driver is better than Official driver reasons. If you don’t want to change the sound card output mode, you can also return to the original output mode through soft settings in kX Mixer (kX console). We will mention the soft setting method in the description below.

Entering the "Main" page, we can see many setting items.
“Speaker Setup…”, speaker mode setting. After clicking, the speaker setting window will pop up (because my system has kX's ufx extension plug-in installed, so some of the setting windows have different interfaces from the kX default setting window, but the basic functions and setting items are the same. I only Take this as an example to explain).

First select the speaker mode that is closest to you. The speaker setting plug-in Surrounder provides numerous modes to choose from.
2.0 – Stereo Only 2.0 stereo mode
2.0 – Simple Mix 2.0 mono mixing mode refers to extending a mono signal to the left and right channels for output .
2.0 - Surround Mix adds a subwoofer to the 2.0 stereo, which is actually a 2.1 output.
4.0 – Quadro Only 4.0 professional mode?
4.0 – Copy Mix This seems to copy the front left and front right stereo signals to the rear left and rear, so that four speakers can output signals at the same time.
4.0 – Movie Mode 4.0 movie mode has four signal outputs: front left, front right, rear left, and rear right.
5.0 – Direct Path 5.0 pass-through mode??
5.0 – Copy Mix This seems to copy the front left and front right stereo signals to the center, rear left and rear, so that the five speakers can output signals at the same time.
5.0 – Movie Mode 5.0 movie mode has five signal outputs: front left, front right, center, rear left, and rear right.
4.1 – Quadro Only 4.1 professional mode?
4.1 – Copy Mix This seems to mix the front left and front right stereo signals to the rear left, rear and subwoofer, so that the five speakers output signals at the same time.
4.1 – Movie Mode 4.1 movie mode has five signal outputs: front left, front right, rear left, rear right and subwoofer.
5.1 – Direct Path 5.1 direct mode?
5.1 – Copy Mix This seems to mix the front left and front right stereo signals to the front left, front right, center and rear The left, rear and subwoofer enable 6 speakers to output signals at the same time.
5.1 – Movie Mode 5.1 movie mode has six signal outputs: front left, front right, center, rear left, rear right and subwoofer.
Because I have a 5.1 system, the speaker mode I set is "5.1 – Movie Mode"
USE Sub/LFE Channel: Whether to open a dedicated subwoofer or subwoofer output channel , in the off state, the subwoofer or subwoofer signal will be mixed into the front and output through the front speakers; in the on state, the signal will be output by the dedicated subwoofer channel.
Surround Mode: Surround mode, OFF, does not turn on the surround mode; COPY, mix the front signal into the front left, front right, center, rear left, rear and subwoofer, making 6 speakers Output signals at the same time; ON, turn on the surround mode. On the basis of COPY, a new effect setting option is added, and further effect settings can be made for the center and rear.
VCenterA: center output intensity.
VRearA: rear output intensity.
VRearW: Rear output sound field width.
VRearD: rear output reverberation.
Bass Redirection: Bass redirection switch.
Split Frequency(Hz): Subwoofer crossover point adjustment.
How? After looking at the speaker settings of the kX driver above, you can get a first glimpse of the power of the kX driver, right? How can it be compared to innovation-driven speakers in terms of speaker settings? The fun is yet to come, let’s continue.
Switch the "front and rear swap" mode. We have mentioned above that the kX driver swaps the front and rear outputs by default. If you want to return to the original output method, you can use this option. to convert.
Switch the "digital output only" mode. This is obvious. "Digital output mode" and "analog output mode" need to be converted using this. Friends who use digital speakers need to check this option.
Switch the "Send headphones to center/subwoofer" mode. In addition to the signal output of the 5.1 (6.1, 7.1) channel, the kX driver also adds a headphone signal output, but the headphone signal is not available on the sound card. A dedicated output port, so the headphone signal and center/subwoofer must use the "center/subwoofer" output port of the sound card, and can be converted through this setting when in use. In the unchecked state, the "Center/Subwoofer" output port of the sound card actually outputs the two signals of "Center/Subwoofer"; in the checked state, the "Center/Subwoofer" output of the sound card The actual output of the port is the two signals of the left and right channels of the headphone. In the default DSP state, the headphone output signal is the copied front left and front right signals of the sound card. Of course, we can completely set the DSP You can customize the two output signals and output effects of any headset. We will explain them step by step in the following introduction.
Switch "Bypass SPDIF" mode. Through this setting, we can turn on or off SPDIF output.
Switch "AC-3 pass-through" mode. This option is for AC-3 digital output. It provides three AC-3 digital output modes.
