China citizens can carry RMB 20,000 each time they enter or leave the country. Passengers take foreign currency cash out of the country. At present, long-term passengers can take foreign currency cash equivalent to 5,000 US dollars out of the country (compared with 40,000 Hong Kong dollars).

/kloc-passengers who leave the country for the second time or more within 0/5 days may leave the country with foreign currency cash not exceeding the equivalent of 1000 USD; Passengers who leave the country for the second time (inclusive) or more in the same day can carry foreign currency cash with the equivalent of not more than 500 US dollars.

Passengers carrying foreign currency cash with the equivalent of more than US$ 5,000 to US$ 10000 (including US$ 10000) out of the country shall submit the Permit for Carrying Foreign Currency issued by the bank to the customs.

Passengers leaving the country with foreign currency cash equivalent to more than US$ 654,380,000 should submit the Permit for Carrying Foreign Exchange issued by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange to the customs for inspection and release.
