China Post, known as China Post Group Corporation (CPGC), is a wholly state-owned, centrally-managed company with the Ministry of Finance (MOF) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) fulfilling the role of the State Council's investor on its behalf. It is responsible for postal services in mainland China, and operates under a management system that separates the government from the enterprise and is subject to the supervision of the State Post Bureau (SPSB).
On October 4, 1995, the former General Administration of Posts and Telecommunications of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications was formally registered as a legal entity, i.e., the General Administration of Posts and Telecommunications of China (GAPT), or "China Post" for short.
On January 29, 2007, China Post Group Corporation and the State Post Bureau were established, and the government and enterprises of China Post were separated. In 2009, China Post was selected by the Chinese World Records Association as the largest postal network in the world, creating a number of the world's largest and China's largest.
The State Post Bureau and the State Civil Aviation Administration have been transferred to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, making the State Post Bureau a vice-ministerial postal regulator. China Post Group Corporation, on the other hand, was temporarily assigned by the Ministry of Finance to fulfill its obligations as a contributor on behalf of the State Council, and China Post Group, as a centralized body of operational postal offices (offices) across the country, also registered RMB 80 billion with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce to become a wholly state-owned, key centralized enterprise at the vice-ministerial level.
On March 20, 2016, China Post celebrated the 120th anniversary of its opening. To commemorate the 120th anniversary of the opening of China Post, on the occasion of the 2015 World Postal Day, the "Me and Postal" National Essay Contest organized by the Economic Daily News, Guangming Daily, and China Post Group Corporation was officially launched to collect excellent original works from all over the country.
