What is IDE?
IDE interface (Integrated Drive Electronics) is a hard disk drive that integrates a "hard disk controller" with a "platter". By integrating the platter with the controller, the number and length of cables in the hard disk interface are reduced, the reliability of data transmission is enhanced, and the manufacturing of hard disks is made easier.

So hard drive manufacturers no longer need to worry about whether their drives are compatible with controllers made by other manufacturers. For users, hard disk installation is also more convenient. IDE interface technology has been evolving since its inception, and its performance has continued to improve, with inexpensive, highly compatible features that have created an irreplaceable position for other types of hard disks.
