Institute Introduction
Xinjiang Institute of Technology (XIT, Xinjiang Institute of Technology), started in August 2002, located in Aksu region of Xinjiang, led and managed by the Xinjiang People's Government, and approved by the Ministry of Education to set up an applied undergraduate level ordinary higher education institutions. Formerly known as Xinjiang University College of Science and Technology, it was converted to a public organization and renamed Xinjiang Institute of Technology in 2019.
As of March 2022, the school covers an area of 3,000 acres, with a planned construction area of 687,000 square meters, of which 400,000 square meters have been built; it has 11 teaching units and 34 undergraduate majors; it has more than 700 staff members, including 449 full-time teachers, and more than 13,000 students.
History
College of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University
In August 2002, the College of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University was established.
In January 2004, the school passed the audit of the Ministry of Education on the qualification of running schools.
In May 2012, the school passed the audit of the Degree Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Education Department of the Autonomous Region, and the college obtained the qualification of granting bachelor's degree.
In 2014, approved by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, it was agreed to gradually relocate the College of Science and Technology, which was under the management of Xinjiang University, to Aksu.
In 2015, the Aksu campus was completed and enrollment began that year.
In 2017, the university moved to Aksu as a whole.
Xinjiang Polytechnic Institute
On June 10, 2019, approved by the Ministry of Education, the College of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University was successfully transferred to Xinjiang Polytechnic Institute.

School Environment
Designed by the Institute of Architecture of Tsinghua University, the school has a grand overall layout, with a backdrop of Tianshan Mountain and a view of all seasons. The school is actively building a green campus, ecological campus, garden campus, across the street and the largest national wetland park in Xinjiang, forming a school in the city, learning in the forest, people in the garden of ecological nurturing atmosphere. School work training and practice base of 12,000 square meters, the library collection of more than 480,000 paper books, 530,000 e-books, 1,617 periodicals, 4 kinds of electronic literature databases, with a domestic advanced big data center, has formed a complete modern library system and computer network service system.

As of March 2022, the university has more than 700 faculty members, including 449 full-time teachers, 99 full-time teachers with senior titles, 38 teachers with doctoral degrees, and more than 95.5% of teachers with master's degree or above. There are two "Tianshan Talents" in the autonomous region, one selected for the "Tianshan Cedar" program in the autonomous region, and three "Tofeng Talents" in the Aksu region.

Teaching Achievements
In April 2021, one teacher of the school won the second prize and one won a merit award in the finals of the first National College Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition in Xinjiang.
In May 2022, two school teachers won the first prize, four won the second prize and two won the third prize in the final of the second Xinjiang Region of the Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers.

As of November 2021, the university has one autonomous region-level engineering technology center, one autonomous region-level scientific research and innovation team, and has fostered three university-level scientific research platforms and two key laboratories.

Scientific Research Achievements
In 2021, the university declared more than 300 scientific research projects, approved 73 vertical scientific research projects at all levels, 24 provincial and ministerial level projects, 9 local and departmental level projects, and sought 3,075,000 yuan of scientific research funds in a year, of which 12 projects were established by the Autonomous Region's Natural Science Fund, 5 projects were established by the Party's strategy of governing Xinjiang in the new era, and 67 papers were published. Authorized 15 patents and 2 software copyrights.

As of November 2021, the university library has 932,300 paper books, 500,700 electronic books, 18,554 electronic journals, 758,400,000 dissertations, and 1,219,67 hours of audio and video; it owns three databases: China Knowledge Network (CKN), Wanfang Database, and Wanfang Video Library.
Academic Exchange
In July 2021, the university successfully held the Academic Exchange Forum on Food Culture in the Western Regions, with the theme of "Food Culture Exchange in the Western Regions", inviting more than 120 experts and scholars of food research in China to attend the forum, and delivering six keynote speeches on related topics, and conducting the "One Belt and One Road" and food culture exchange, food raw materials and specialty foods, food folklore and food images, interdisciplinary perspective of food culture and other four academic sub-forums.
